| Bio: |  CHARACTER: Name: Phoenix {Real name: Ekaterina Romanov} Age: 28 D.O.B.: March 25th, 1984 Hometown: New York City, New York Physical Description: Her hair is the brightest of reds though naturally it is plain brown. It hangs down to the small of her back but she usually wears it up in multiple swirls or just up in a stylish mess. Her eyes are a bright green. Her skin is rather pale. She accents this paleness with bright red make-up – heavy eyeshadow, heart shaped tear-like markings, glittery lipstick in a geisha style. It is enough to give her the appearance of a China doll. Phoenix is appears to be rather skinny but has a noticeable bit of muscle to her due to her acrobatic capabilities. She is 5’6” and weighs about 130 Lbs. Her clothing style is an insane mixture of styles and ages, stripes and spots, corsets and ripped jeans. Really, anything she likes, she’ll wear it. She has a lot of old burn scars on her fingers, palms and on a few places under her chin and her chest. They’re relatively small but noticeable. Personality: Most people consider Phoenix to be very... eccentric. She talks a lot and not always to people. Some times, she’ll just be holding full conversations with herself. She says she has a very active imagination and that’s very true. She has her moments of calmness and that’s perhaps the only reason she has a job on the cruise ship. They’re the best time to talk to her as she might actually answer the questions she’s asked. Her train of thought often derails and she’ll ask people really random questions like “Do you like squirrels?” out of the blue. She’s brimming with energy and a need for adrenaline and uses free running as an outlet so don’t expect her to take conventional pathways through the ocean liner. Phoenix is also a pyromaniac and can occasionally be seen just flicking a lighter off and on repeatedly, giggling. As long as she’s not working. She tries to be very well behaved when she’s actually in Prometheus’s Flame. She speaks her mind and while she doesn’t try to offend people, if someone’s being an idiot or an ass, she’ll tell them. Sexuality: Heterosexual Passenger or Staff: On-Ship Job: Proprietor of Prometheus’s Flame, a gift shop focusing on candles, incense and the New Age world. In the Real World: Fire breather for a circus. History: Ekaterina Romanov was born to first generation Russian immigrants to America. They set up a small dry cleaner and provided their daughter with the best America could offer her which honestly wasn’t much beyond citizenship. Their apartment was small, half-demolished and infested with insects. As she grew up, they noticed there was something... off about their child. She was attracted to fire in a very bad way. Even after she learned that it was painful to her. But at least she kept setting fire to the bugs and getting rid of them faster than they could save money for an exterminator. She never did very well in school but seemed to be very good at welding and eventually took a job early in her life in a factory after quitting school. She was the best damn welder they’d ever seen, having a way with the flame. At 17 she got involved in one very hot and heavy night with a man named Cyrus. She got pregnant and a few months later, lost the baby. Eventually when she was 19, she got bored and took a little money to fly to Japan just for kicks. It seemed like an interesting country to go to and she was right. She had the best time of her life in Japan, meeting a man by the name of Pyrrhus there for the same reasons she was there. Together, they lived the life of Japanese Hobos. They did a lot of performing and Ekaterina (having taken the name of Phoenix by this time) sold a few sculptures that she put together with bits of scrap metal and borrowed tools. She learned free running in Japan and even competed in a couple of Women of Ninja Warrior (Kunoichi) competitions. She never did very well but damned if it wasn’t really hard. She and Pyrrhus seemed to be two peas in a very strange pod. They liked fire, they liked each other and they liked setting things on fire... Not necessarily in that order. One day, Pyrrhus asked Phoenix to marry her and she automatically said “I will as surely as frogs hop!” But when the day came, she found she couldn’t do it and ran away back to America. She never saw Pyrrhus again. Phoenix took a job with a circus and trained in fire breathing. It was something that she quite loved as she got to mix a love of alcohol and fire. Alright, sometimes she had to use proper fuel but the alcohol was just much more fun and tasty. And she only burned her eyebrows off once. Still, one day that desire to roam came along and there was an opportunity with a new cruise ship line. She signed on at once. Special Skills/Abilities: Welding, fire breathing, free running, being strange, speaks Russian, English and Japanese, acrobatics, setting fires, picking locks, playing piano, creeping people out. Personal Weaknesses: Moth to The Flames: Phoenix is a pyromaniac. She gains a sense of euphoria from starting fires and from being around them though she seems to have it under considerable control. Still, if there’s fire anywhere near her, she’ll be stuck in a sort of trance staring at it. Often, she’ll even touch it if someone doesn’t stop her. She honestly can’t help but do it and it is definitely her biggest weakness. Afraid of Commitment: She can be in a strong relationship but if it ever comes down to being with that one person forever and ever? She runs like a bat out of Hell. Same with this ship. She’ll never work for them for her whole life. Eventually, she’ll quit and move on to something new. Phoenix is constantly traveling because of it. Lunacy: A lot of people find it difficult to understand Phoenix. Very likely, she’s as mad as the Hatter and the March Hare but so far she’s undiagnosed because she functions just like anyone else. Personal Strengths: Jack of All Trades: She knows a lot of tricks and trades and so she can pretty much do a lot of things. She’s been a temporary plumber, handywoman, dry cleaner employee, welder, artist, amateur athlete, fire breather, loli-clothes saleswoman... Really, running a gift shop is going to be a breeze. Addicted to Fallout: No, no. Not proper nuclear fallout but the video game. Currently, she’s still playing the Hell out of Fallout 3, especially since you can get a flamethrower as a weapon. That is so much fun, setting the Brahmin on fire. And the raiders. And the nukes. And anything she can set on fire really. She used to have a fiancée but she got extremely cold feet and dashed. His name was Pyrrhus Thorn. While he was possibly the only person in the world that could understand her and she loved him dearly, she got very afraid of being tied down and ran far far away. Too bad he’s on the ship too. Oops.
